Hey. I’m merging event announcements back into my main blog. I’m excited to be hosting these public events in the upcoming weeks, and I’d love to see you there.
- Saturday, April 5th: Clay Paint Workshop at the Cambridge Foundry
- Friday, April 18th: Tree Walk at Somerville Growing Center
- Sunday, May 4th: Urban Tree Walk at the Arnold Arboretum
Saturday, April 5th: Clay Paint Workshop at the Cambridge Foundry
The last one was a hit, so I’m stoked to be offering it again (and even better). This is a great way to get introduced to the joy of foraged clay and experience painting in a new way!

We’ll be using Cambridge-harvested clay, wheat paste, and non-toxic pigments to blend up natural clay paints that are suitable for indoor uses. Participants will get to experience every step of the process, like screening subsoil, hydrating clay to the right consistency, making wheat paste, and of course, painting! Sliding scale pricing.
Friday, April 18th: Tree Walk at Somerville Growing Center
Join me after work at 6 p.m. near Union Square for a free tree walk in the Somerville Growing Center and surrounding neighborhood. We’ll learn about common (and less common) urban street trees, how to identify them at this time of year, their ecological relationships, and historical uses. Free, no RSVP needed.

Sunday, May 4th: Urban Tree Walk at the Arnold Arboretum
I’m delighted to be hosting an urban tree walk for the Arnold Arboretum. The Arboretum is known for being a living museum of trees from all over the world, but on this tour, we’ll be focusing on the trees in the nearby neighborhoods, creating connections that you’ll be able to call upon on the daily as you go about town, while also relating them to the Arboretum’s vast collection. This is free, but for Arboretum members only. Membership starts at $65 a year (not bad considering all the perks).
